Heute ist uns etwas Unerwartetes passiert: auf einem kleinen Erkundungstrip sind wir, ohne es vor zu haben, in einen Kalligraphiekurs geraten.
Wir waren unterwegs um die Umgebung etwas kennen zu lernen und hatten außer einigen Reisfeldern einen unscheinbaren Weg mit vielen Schriftzügen am Rande eines kleinen Hügels entdeckt. Da es dort interessant aussah und gerade jemand vorbeikam, fragte Edouard, mein Mitbewohner, was denn die Schriftzeichen bedeuten. Er sagte uns, dass es um Kalligraphie gehe, und wir doch mitkommen könnten. Da wir dachten, dass es sich um eine Ausstellung handelt, sind wir mitgekommen. Dort angekommen war es aber tatsächlich eine Kalligraphieklasse bei einer anscheinend recht berühmten Meisterin, Michiko Hamasaki (klick). Wir wurden gleich hereingebeten und zum mitmachen bewegt :)
Ich habe mich an einer Schildkröte (Kame) und einem Tiger (Tora) versucht. Ich bin mit den Ergebnissen ganz zufrieden, aber so toll künstlerisch wie die der Meisterin sind sie leider nicht geworden.
Sowas erlebt man nicht alle Tage.
Today something unexpected happened to us: while we were on a little exploration of our neighbourhood, we got into a calligraphy lesson without the intention of doing so.
So, we were exploring and found a couple of rice fields and a little path up a hill. There were a couple of signs with kanjis on them and as this seemed interesting and a person came by, Edouard, my room mate asked the guy, what this all meant. He said it is something about calligraphy and invited us to come with him. As we thought it was some kind of exhibition, we followed him. It turns out that it was actually a class we were going to, and before we knew, the people there asked us to join them and even to draw some pictograms. The calligraphy master, Michiko Hamasaki (click), seems to be quite famous in fact. I tried to draw a turtle (Kame) and a tiger (Tora). My drawings are ok, but I didn’t get them to be as artsy as the ones the master did :)
Something like that doesn’t happen to you every day …
